ARTIST'S STATEMENT: “

The comic book artist Jack Kirby is one of my heroes. I discovered his work when I was 12 years old and my friend let me read an issue of Kamandi: The Last Boy on Earth. Kamandi's girlfriend was a post-apocalyptic girl named Flower. I thought it would be interesting to imagine Flower as the daughter of a 1950s Jack Kirby/Stan Lee comic book monster named Googam, Son of Goom. Who is her mother? She is a well known actress from the 1950s and 1960s, but I will leave that as an exercise to the viewer.
