Casey Weldon and "The Afro"

Wolfman Haircut: The Afro by Casey Weldon

Casey Weldon, Wolfman Haircut: The Afro

When he first joined TTP, we asked Casey Weldon what was up with the Wolfman series.

“Oh man,” he said. “I’m not sure where that came from. I think some friends and I were having a beer at a bar with a socially diverse crowd in it at the time. It was around Halloween, and we were joking about Wolfmen with frosted tips, and then a faux hawk, an emo cut, and it just exploded from there.”

Of course, we have a bunch of different series on the site, Cristian Grossi’s  Insekta series and Alex Varanese’s Alt/1977 series are just two that come to mind, but Casey’s might be the strangest. It’s like one part cultural commentary plus two parts trend satire, shaken and stirred with whatever it is within Casey that allows him the imaginative potential to make so many of them – maybe the same part of him that thought of the absurd Kitten Caps.

The Afro might be my favorite of the bunch. Dude looks like Questlove.
