Nathan Ota triumphantly returns to Thumbtack Press with a dozen new prints. Nathan is an illustrator, in the purest sense of the word. He knows anatomy better than most M.D.’s and has graciously shared his knowledge of illustration to students at both Otis and Santa Monica Colleges for years - in fact he was an instructor at Otis when I was a student - that’s when I was first introduced to his great talent. Later, he and I served as board members for the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles, and that’s where I discovered he was a great guy to boot.

Nathan’s work is forever-changing, which is what I admire about it the most. His latest batch of paintings has been making waves on the gallery circuit across the country and in most of the major illustration competitions. This piece, HI HO, made my jaw drop when he sent it to me… and jealous with art-envy rage. Even so, it’s my pleasure to reintroduce you to Nathan Ota.
