(Updated) Illustrators! Do not give VistaPrint your business!
To: Robert Keane President & Chief Executive Officer rkeane@vistaprint.com VistaPrint Mr Keane: Shame on your company and your company practices. I get about 3 calls a day on my cell phone xxx-xxx-xxxx from 888-682-0313, no message, no person on the other end. A simple Google search reveiled that VistaPrint customers are the recipients of this unwanted, unethical, marketing assault. Read the comments here: http://whocalled.us/lookup/8886820313 here: http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-888-682-0313 I am (now) a (former) VistaPrint customer, these complaints date back to August of last year, why hasn’t this situation been remedied? Some poor soul who commented on the above boards went through the process of getting you off their back, they lament that they had to WRITE A LETTER to get these calls to stop which is ridiculous. I called VistaPrint tonight, got tired of being on hold … why? … to ask you to stop calling!? Why do I have to do that? Remove me, and my business Thumbtack Press, from any future mailings, promotions, et. al. I will not be using your services again. Tony
Update 4/16/07: I received two “calm-the-customer-down” e-mails from the same VistaPrint rep in rapid succession. The fact I received two was more curious than the reply - so I compared and contrasted. Most of it’s just “sorry-this” and “we value your feedback-that,” but this is where the e-mails differ:
email #1 - 1:36pm
…We did call the xxx-xxx-xxxx this past February with a Website offer. It appears that you have a second account with us with a different telephone number (xxx) and we called that account too. I have removed both telephone numbers from our calling list. After a bit more investigation, it appears that another company has also partnered with Website Pro’s and contacted you on your cell phone number…
WHOOPS, shouldn’t have sent that … resend quick.
email #2 - 2:05pm
…We did call the xxx-xxx-xxxx this past February with a Website offer. It appears that you have a second account with us with a different telephone number (xxx) and we called that account too. I have removed both telephone numbers from our calling list along with future mailings and promotions. If you have any additional accounts and associated telephone numbers, please let me know and I will remove immediately…
See the difference? They gave my personal information to Website Pros, an affilate. I was just about to slam them for violating their privacy policy, but — and here’s the kicker — they admit they may share your personal information with others …
Sharing Information With Others (last line) Even if you do not opt in to this sharing, we may still share personally identifiable information about you with other companies as permitted or required by law.
To which, I STILL say “Illustrators! Do not give VistaPrint your business!”

WebSitePros just called me as well trying to sell me a web site design. They bought my info from Vistaprint. We’ll see what the Vistaprint people say to me, if anything. I’ve filed complaints with DoNotCall.gov and the Federal Trade Commission because Vistaprint’s privacy policy was not followed. Vistaprint sucks.
