It’s about TIME!!!

My favorite animated film, the Lucas produced Twice Upon A Time (1983), has been posted on YouTube. Unfortunately it’s YouTube quality, but dammit, it’s something&#151come to think of it my old VHS bootleg wasn’t much better. I hope it finds a renewed life among this generation.

Ralph the All Purpose Animal

Synopsis: Two unlikely heroes, Ralph and Mum (who are blue collar workers at a dream factory) are swept into an incredible adventure to stop the evil Synonamess Botch from spreading never-ending nightmares to the Rushers of Din (those would be us). They meet some great characters along the way. Hilarity ensues. The animation is wonderfully raw and even a little rough around the edges-but in a good way. The real gem of the film is the wicked clever script with some great adult-centric jokes (unfortunately this version has the high-larious and understated “asshole” comment by Scuzzbopper omitted). The characters are designed as flawlessly as they are charming and the layouts—Harley Jessup—will entrance you.

Just watching the first couple of minutes brings me back to seeing this when I was 12 years old. I can’t wait to share this with my Son. I wonder if something like this would ever be greenlighted today.
