I don’t get it, explain it to me
I belong to the Cult of Apple, but am in no way a mouthpiece for the company, I just like them, always have. Yesterday the Dept. of Homeland Security (THE U.S. GOVERNMENT!!) issued an emergency alert for Windows users to patch crucial flaws in the system. Doesn’t this strike you Windows folks as a little . . . odd.
To compare, imagine you have a powertool, like a drill, and you have to perform a maintinience routine on it regularly so it doesn’t breakdown, and you know you have to continue these routines for the life of your drill, and you also know that while using your drill you’ll have to stop occasionally - in the middle of drilling! - to perform this maintinience. And finally, Uncle Sam warns you to fix your drill or you’re in for trouble. By God, you’d buy a different brand of drill come Christmas.
My parents use Windows and, bless their hearts, are always patching, de-virusing, de-fragging, and complaining that their machines do not work properly. Whenever I have to do something on a PC I get inundated with anti-virus this and desktop clean-up that, it’s truly unbelievable to me that Windows has such a huge market share.
Is it the larger selection of video games? I just don’t get it.
