United States Senate, I salute you!

This isn’t really art-based, but I’m so pleased to hear that there still intelligent people in Washington D.C. making intelligent decisions on behalf of the intelligent people they represent.

From the Associated Press

WASHINGTON - The Senate rejected a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage by a wide margin Wednesday, delivering a stinging defeat to President Bush and other Republicans who had hoped the issue would rally GOP voters for the November elections.

Sidenote: Since y’all are having a moment of clarity can we also pass a law that makes marijuana possession not a crime! please? I’m just saying.

/off soapbox //for the moment ///wait just one more . . . I read somewhere that the Bill of Rights was specifically designed to empower and give rights to ‘we the people’ - have you noticed lately that the recent proposed amendments are specifically designed to remove and limit rights to ‘we the people’? Think about it. ////ok, I’m done.
