Slayer 6/6/06
Today is the National Day of Slayer. If you haven’t listened to Slayer, fuck it, you never will. If you have listened to Slayer you know and understand.
I bought Show No Mercy on cassette in Junior High School (I’m 35 now) and loved it, wore it down to a warpy, melted, pulp. I bought God Hates Us All last year - (fun fact: that album was released on 9/11/01) and Threshold is the heaviest track I’ve heard in 5 years. It never fails, angry young bands get softer and sweeter with each million they make, but not Slayer. They are the only band in the history of thrash that keep turning it up a notch year after year.
If you think I’m being campy, cute \m/, or tongue-in-cheek about this, I’m not. Slayer rules.
