Congratulations to Josh Sears
Josh went and got himself into the coveted American Illustration.
A group of us (when I was a senior in college) took a trip to NY for the AI-AP book release and a subsequent studio walk. We got to meet Brad Holland, Seymour Chwast, Peter DeSeve, Roberto Parada, and a personal idol Matt Mahurin. I really, really, really encourage illustration students to make the trip if - for nothing else - seeing NY in the fall.

Thanks Tony, yes I too made that eye-opening trip to NYC when I was a student… all of two years ago. Talk about starstruck. Got to meet Gary Taxali, Michael Lotonero, Lorraine Tuson- among other rolemodels. Never would have thought that I’d be part of the group… It’s so.. sniff warm and wonderful. Feeling very unworthy.
The next party is in November. I’m officially inviting everyone who reads this. Let’s hang out in NYC!
