Matthew Leake’s prints are a combination of scratchboard and paint. Together, the mix creates a wonderful blend of raw images that remind me of the days before computers. It’s tough for me to recall when I did an illustration without the benefit of CMD-Z to backout of a misplaced brush stroke. Matthew’s work is both daring and beautiful.
