I’ve just learned that Thumbtack Press’s own Chris Buzelli has won the prestigious 2005 Patrick Nagel Award for Excellence from the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles (follow this link to see last years’ winner, the also amazing Bob Dob).
Chris also received the Silver and Bronze Award in the Editorial Illustration catagory. He [...]
We are only offering this print until the end of 2005, then - like a jersey number - we retire it forever. I guess there are a lot of NY and Beantown fans who want to be reminded often of the pain an suffering they had to endure in the 2005 playoffs . . [...]
Liza went to Otis (my alma mater) and was in the class above mine. In fact, she’s in a class way above me! I’ve added the detail inset because . . . well . . . because you just had to see it! She is a wonderful artist who I’ve always admired. www.thumbtackpress.com
Chris Buzelli is the latest illustrator to join Thumbtack Press. The collection of prints available on Thumbtack Press has exceeded my wildest hopes and dreams, and it’s because of the meticulous work of artists like Chris — Buy a print today. www.thumbtackpress.com
Rob Dunlavey is officially top dog with the most works on Thumbtack Press. In his case, less is not more — no sir — more IS more! The above print, Lost, blows my mind. Check out Fresh too. (Fun Fact: although thousands of miles away, Rob once went to school in the same small community [...]
Richard A. Goldberg (rag) brings me back to my childhood — a mix of Little Golden Books and Disney’s Tiki Room — I’m really glad to have him contribute to Thumbtack Press! www.thumbtackpress.com
If this image is titled My Glasses then I’m guessing this is an image of the artist Josh Sears. Josh could be a dead ringer for Johnny Knoxville if you ask me. Josh has promised to send us more work for his section . . . (*sound of toe tapping).
Welcome Josh! www.thumbtackpress.com
Thumbtack Press welcomes Steven E. Hughes! Steven has tremendous style and I love this image - Opposites - which I am guessing has something to do with the ‘Glass half empty?’ parable. This is a perfect example of where photography fails to do the job that illustration can . . . Am I right, or [...]
I had a business meeting today - lots of notetaking and lots of blah blah blah blah. I get back to my studio and toss my yellow legal notepad next to my printer; it’s covered with doodles - as usual. In the bottom left-hand corner - in my handwriting - are the words:
“Roasted Tricleptosaurus,”
I actually [...]
This print: Hell by Nathan Ota was the first Thumbtack Press print “officially” sold on the site. So far I’ve discovered the benefit of making sales has almost nothing to do with money, it’s much more rewarding to know that someone really wants what you are offering — that’s what puts a smile on my [...]
It’s always on the site and never in the same place twice. Find the Golden Thumbtack - click on it - and write down the daily code. That code is worth 20% off your total order on that day. Here’s some small print for you to squint at . . .
The golden thumbtack promotion [...]
Christopher Umana brings a unique style to Thumbtack Press - his work also typifies why Thumbtack Press carries stuff you WON’T see anywhere else! I urge you to check out The Gluttony Series - it’s the first series on Thumbtack Press that is over 5 ft. wide when placed end-to-end - or buy them individually! www.thumbtackpress.com
Nishant Choksi is one of those artists that I really, really wanted on Thumbtack Press. Welcome aboard! www.thumbtackpress.com
Since we’ve launched I’m catching up on the artist updates to the blog. Michael Nobbs, I’m pleased to say, brings a whimsical simplicity to Thumbtack Press. They’re small, they’re dainty. Cheers Michael! www.thumbtackpress.com
I spent an entire day with my son. We shared a bagel. We walked in the park. We both lay in the grass and pointed out the birds and squirrels to each other. We laughed. I gave him a bath, kissed his sweet face, and tucked him into bed.
Then, at midnight, I launched Thumbtack Press. www.thumbtackpress.com
I bought a new suit today because my old suit is MIA after the move to our new home (it was out of date anyway). I paid a lot for my old suit even seven years ago, the place where I bought it rhymes with “Ordstroms” - this time I was determined to buy a [...]
