Here’s the e-mail I (regretfully but unavoidably) sent to all of the Thumbtack Press Artists today.

Dear Thumbtack Press Artists: Our projected launch date, Sept. 15th (tomorrow), needs to be pushed to October 15th. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause you. Our business licenses and merchant accounts have been stalled through common bureaucracy channels and we can’t do business without them. The good news is that this allows for a proper marketing campaign to take root and after some serious research we have decided to funnel our advertising funds into direct mail (an Illustrator favorite). Many of you have added the http://www.thumbtackpress.com address to your respective websites already and for that I am eternally thankful. I will update the ‘Coming Soon’ page with the new launch date. Do not hesitate to call me if you have any questions or concerns - I am very hopeful in this partnership we have taken and I look forward to the future!
