Read More About This Artist| Biography: | Sroop is an illustrator. She lives and works in London and is represented by Debut Art illustration agency. Her recent clients include Jamie Oliver, Penguin Books, Time Out London, WIRED magazine, Oxfam and BP.
She moved to New Delhi in her teens where her love for Indian street culture and printed ephemera all started. From textile to matchbox labels, hair oil to medicine packaging, it was the haphazard printing quality, striking colour palettes, quirky use of typography and visual wit found on every day consumer goods, that now heavily influences her work. Her illustration style offers a unique cultural insight and aesthetic, pushing forward India's quirky post-colonial design culture into the forefront of modern day western audiences. She has exhibited across London and Berlin, and had her first solo show in January 2011. |
