Biography:

Peter Diamond is an illustrator based in Vienna, Austria. Born in England and raised in Canada, he studied Fine Arts at NSCAD University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. His work has been recognized by Spectrum, American Illustration, Society Of Illustrators, 3x3, Applied Arts, and Creative Quarterly.

Peter approaches his work like visual short stories, where the viewer is given just a glimpse of the story to decipher, as though they’ve interrupted some secret goings-on. Peter aims to nurse ambiguities and free associations in his pictures.

Peter learned the basics from his brother’s early lessons, his grandmother’s effortless sketches and his father’s childhood drawings of birds. In high-school he began illustrating posters for punk-rock concerts and later began making album covers, t-shirt designs and comics while in University.

He now works in editorial illustration in addition to continued work with bands, and pariticipates in the burgeoning society of Austrian illustration Illustria as an international contact person, trying to build better infrastructure, communication and awareness in the Austrian illustration community.
