Someone once said to Ed Beals, “I understand you are an artist of some sort.” To someone who has always found it difficult to specialize in any one form of expression, "Artist of Some Sort" seems like an appropriate description.

Ed started out in the early 1980’s working as a graphic artist, and as a freelancer and has been variously employed as an illustrator, cartoonist, web designer, and animator. His work and play has involved myriad forms of two-dimensional and three-dimensional digital art, music and audio, sculpture, painting, and photography.
Recent work includes co-director/animator on the stop-motion animated film Mechanical Figures, and cartoon illustrations for a self-published book called HELLO MY NAME IS birdbee.
When not in the studio, Ed can sometimes be spotted balancing stones on beaches or playing the ukulele.
